Theme: “Pentecost and the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit”

On May 29, 2025, the Peace Center, Lahore hosted a dynamic and spiritually enriching seminar on the theme of “Pentecost and the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit.” at Peace Center. This timely topic offered an in-depth reflection on the Holy Spirit’s role in empowering young believers to live as committed disciples of Christ in today’s complex world. The event brought together over 30 young Christian boys and girls from various denominations. Fr. Adil Peter OP was speaker and, on this theme, he talked through Multimedia Presentation. He talked with youth a comprehensive and to the point slide show presentation and with it he gave group discussion with some questions. 

Presentation by Fr. Adil Peter OP

Fr. Adil Peter OP delivered a well-structured and enlightening PowerPoint presentation that explored:

•    The biblical roots of Pentecost
•    The transformative role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer
•    Teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and inspiring quotes from saints and popes, especially St. Thomas Aquinas
•    An in-depth look at the Seven

Gifts of the Holy Spirit:

• Wisdom
• Understanding
• Counsel
• Fortitude
• Knowledge
• Piety
• Fear of the Lord

He emphasized how these gifts empower individuals to deepen their faith, strengthen relationships, and positively influence the world around them.

Session by Rev. Fr. James Channan OP
In the second session, Fr. James Channan provided a broader perspective by integrating spiritual and contemporary insights. He:
•    Recalled St. Dominic's example of carrying both the Gospel of Matthew and a newspaper, symbolizing the balance between spiritual formation and awareness of current events
•    Highlighted the life and teachings of Pope Leo XIV
•    Stressed the holistic development of youth—spiritually, intellectually, and socially
•    Encouraged young people to become agents of peace and authentic disciples of Christ

Fellowship and Conclusion
The seminar concluded with a fellowship meal, allowing participants to interact, reflect, and share their experiences. Many young attendees expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect in a nurturing environment.

Outcomes and Impact
The seminar successfully:
•    Enhanced participants’ understanding of the Holy Spirit’s gifts
•    Encouraged youth to embrace their Christian identity with purpose and courage
