International Interfaith Conference, 2024 in Doha, Qatar
Fr James Channan invited to represent Pakistan
Doha International Center for Interreligious Dialogue (DICID) and Foreign Ministry of the State of Qatar, organized internation conference in Doha. It is one of the most important international platforms, bringing together intellectuals and representatives from the three monotheistic religions (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism), as well as religious scholars, academics, and leaders of interfaith dialogue centers, and institutions from around the world.
In the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue on the theme of “Family Structure in the Light of Changing World: Religious Perspective”. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and Fr. James Channan OP participated as Christian leader and represented Pakistan.
The 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, titled “Family Structure in Light of Changing World: Religious Perspective”, was held in Doha on May 7-8, 2024. In conjunction with the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue is pleased to announce the 5th Doha International Award for Interfaith Dialogue, and to call for submissions.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the work of the 15th International Conference for Interfaith Dialogue was launched on the topic of religions and raising children in light of contemporary family changes, under the slogan “Family Integration.” “Religion, values and education.“ In her opening speech of the conference, Walwabint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that the theme of this conference is consistent with the firm conviction in the State of Qatar of the centrality of the family in building societies, and the centrality of religion and morals in this building, which is something that the Constitution of Qatar stipulates without ambiguity in Article (21), pointing to the State of Qatar’s mobilization, at the international level, of efforts in favor of the family, and its continuous endeavor to enhance international advocacy for its issues, with the comprehensive dialogue platforms it has provided for decision-makers, politicians, academics, international organizations and charitable societies
The conference discussed the search for scientific methods of studying the institution of the family, as well as the development of partnerships between organizations aimed at strengthening the family structure.
